A Message from our President
On behalf of the Delta Nu chapter of Alpha Phi, welcome to our website! I am Jordyn Kohtala, Chapter President of Alpha Phi at the University of Maine.
I’m so glad you have taken the time to visit our site and learn about our philanthropy, the values we hold close to our hearts, and our remarkable sisterhood. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to serve the organization that has helped shape me into the woman I am today. Because of Alpha Phi I’ve met my best friends, gained leadership skills that I use every day inside and outside of Alpha Phi, and I’ve been given boundless opportunities to grow that may not have been presented otherwise.
This past year, the Delta Nu chapter was able to host our annual Move Your Phi’t 5K, Mac 'N Phis, and Red Dress Gala. We hope to continue being successful in our philanthropic efforts by raising funds for the Alpha Phi Foundation in 2024.
As members of UMaine’s Greek Community, we support our fellow sororities and fraternities on campus through attending and participating in their philanthropy events, donating to their philanthropies, and planning social events throughout the year to foster strong connections, and to network with other individuals in Greek Life. We plan to continue these efforts throughout the year in accordance with CDC, state, and campus guidelines.
Being an Alpha Phi does not mean you simply wear the same letters as your sisters. Being an Alpha Phi means we have a group of strong women to look up to, as well as, having a reliable support system that encourages growth and achievement through the good and the bad. Alpha Phis are leaders, contributors, scholars, and strong women. Our chapter strives for excellence regarding Alpha Phi’s high ideals of character, generosity, sisterhood and innovation. These high ideals are rooted in Alpha Phi women internationally and create a common bond that lasts a lifetime.
I know I can speak for all of my sisters when I say that life will give you twists and turns, but what will always be stable is the bond created by Alpha Phi. A bond that can never be broken. We are looking forward to celebrating 150 years of Alpha Phi and our vast sisterhood during 2022.
Alumnae, fellow sisters, and potential new members, please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns you may have. Alpha Phi will never forget you!
Love and AOE,
Jordyn
